What is Counselling?
Counseling psychology is a psychological specialty that began with a focus on vocational counseling, but later moved its emphasis to adjustment counseling, and then expanded to cover all normal psychology psychotherapy.
BA in Counselling
The Degree in Counselling is a worthwhile programme that prepares and trains learners in a wide range of helping and caring professions. It embraces both the theoretical and the practical. It also emphasizes the development of the whole individual- the personal, interpersonal and professional; enabling learners to become effective professionals.
Counselling students with a single major will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree as specified within their department. Graduates will be well trained to continue or further their studies at a post-graduate level.
Admission Requirements
BGCSE or equivalent with at least 36 points with a minimum of grade C in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or a CC in double science, D in English as wells a credit in any other subject.
Candidates should be 25 years or above at the time of application and must have an appropriate Diploma in a relevant course from an institution accredited by BQA may also be considered.
Exemptions may be granted to candidates with a Diploma in Counselling or equivalent.
The potential candidate must also have experience in the counselling practice with proof thereof, a letter of confirmation from the service or portfolio of evidence may be required.
