What is Emergency Medical Care?
Emergency medical services, also known as ambulance services or paramedic services, are emergency services that provide urgent pre-hospital treatment and stabilisation for serious illness and injuries and transport to definitive care.
BSc in Emergency Medical Care
Botswana is a country with unique needs and situations and requires well-structured out of hospital systems as well as properly equipped and qualified individuals to attend to the needs of the sick and the injured.
One of the challenges the country is currently facing and trying to combat tirelessly is high mortality due to roads accidents prior to reaching a health facility.
Admission Requirements
BGCSE or equivalent with at least 36 points with a minimum of grade C in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or CC in double science, D in English as well as a credit in any other subject.
OR Candidates should be 25 years or above at the time of application and must have an appropriate Diploma in a relevant course from an institution accredited by BQA may also be considered.
No persons shall be allowed direct entry into the final year of the degree program. Exemptions may be granted to candidates with a Diploma in Emergency Medical Care or equivalent.
The potential candidate must also have experience in the Emergency Medical Services with proof thereof. a letter of confirmation from the service or portfolio of evidence may be required.
