What is Emergency Care Technology?

Emergency technology is a field of practice based on the knowledge and skills required for the prevention, diagnosis and management of the acute and urgent aspects of illness and injury affecting patients of all age groups with a full spectrum of undifferentiated physical and behavioral disorders.

Diploma in Emergency Care Technology

The programme is designed to produce emergency care technicians who are expected to assess and recognize medical, traumatic, emotional and psychological emergencies, as well as render basic first aid through advanced life support care in a wide variety of environmental conditions to people of all ages. This programme is designed to enable graduates to work effectively in a range of Emergency Medical fields including working as a Paramedic, Emergency Medical Providers in Hospitals, Fire Services, Ambulance and Rescue Services.

Admission Requirements

BGCSE or equivalent with a minimum of 34 points with at least D in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or double science, Mathematics and English,

OR 2 years relevant, current health work experience or a recommendation letter.

Relevant Certificate from BQA accredited institution of higher education.
