(1) A society registered under the provisions of this Decree shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and may sue and be sued by the corporate name under which it is registered. (2) A registered society shall have a common seal to be approved by the Registrar.

A member of the board shall not be eligible for chairman or vice- chairman vacancy if he/ she is a Minister in the Central or State Government. The member of the committee shall not be elected as Chairperson or President if he/she has held the office during two consecutive terms (full or part).
