Overview
In over three decades of its existence, MVA Fund has successfully discharged its mandate in a judicious manner. To date, a significant number of deserving members of our community have benefited from the Fund’s compensation system.
The Fund acknowledges that there are those who were in the past excluded from its compensation on account of the fault-based system, and to remedy this challenge, the Fund initiated the review of its legislature culminating in migration to Motor Vehicle Accident Fund Act No. 15 of 2007. The Act introduced a hybrid compensation comprising of the fault and no-fault system and this greatly expanded its compensation system.
The Act further expanded the Fund’s mandate to include promotion of road safety and injury prevention and rehabilitation and support of those affected by road traffic accidents.
