What is Association of Accounting Technicians?

The Association of Accounting Technicians is the world’s leading professional body for Accounting Technicians, with over 150,000 members worldwide. AAT has 150,000 members according to official records from the Financial Reporting Council. This includes 2,500 licensed bookkeepers.

Programme Details

The programme offered by AAT covers a range of basic accounting papers, from double-entry bookkeeping, basics of costing, administrative structure and functions of an accounting department etc. It will also expose students to elementary levels of accounting packages and to the basics of computers. It’s ideal if you’re new to working in finance or you’re looking to expand and develop your foundation knowledge and skills. The levels in Year 2 Semesters 3 & 4 cover higher level accounting tasks, including taxation, auditing, reviewing and commenting on financial performance of companies, drafting financial statements, managing budgets and preparing the accounts of companies and other legal entities. A perfect situation when you want to advance your career and want a qualification to give you the confidence and proof that you have the skills to do the job. Once you’ve achieved this qualification, you’ll be the proud owner of the AAT Accounting Qualification. With evidence of one year’s past relevant work experience attained while you were training maybe you’ll be able to apply to become a full member of AAT and use the letters MAAT after your name.

Learning, Teaching & Assessment

Guided Learning:

The students will be exposed to lectures, tutorials and supervised study by the teachers.

Lectures:

The teacher will present materials either orally or by the use of other teaching aids.

Online Learning:

The lecture notes, online tests, additional study material, discussion groups, links torelated subjects etc will be made available to students.

Independent Learning:

The students will have to do self-directed independent learning where theteacher will be acting as a guide.
