What is Healthcare Assistance?
Health Care Assistants (HCAs) are direct care providers who promote and maintain the health, safety, independence, comfort, and well-being of individuals and their families. An HCA provides personal care assistance and support to a variety of clients.
Certificate in Healthcare Assistance
Healthcare Assistance programme is designed to prepare the healthcare worker with skills to promote and maintain health, safety, independence and comfort and wellbeing of individuals and families.
The role of of the assistant in nursing is to support other health professionals in the delivery of general patient care and other support services.
Admission Requirements
BGCSE or equivalent with a minimum of 25 points with at least D/E in Mathematics, English and DD/EE in Double Award Science.
Candidates should be 25 years or above at the time of application and must have an appropriate Diploma in a relevant course from an institution accredited by BQA may also be considered.
Exemptions may be granted to candidates with a Diploma in Counselling or equivalent.
The potential candidate must also have experience in the counselling practice with proof thereof, a letter of confirmation from the service or portfolio of evidence may be required.
