Purpose of the Role
Leads the Supply Chain Performance Management, including establishment of appropriate KPI’s, target setting, measurement, reporting and key decision making related to performance
Key Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and thought leadership in supply chain risk management and assesses supply chain risk management program, policies, and procedures in line with the industry’s best practices and principles
- Manages the development of performance reports across a full range of all SCM streams, which includes but not limited to reports for all elements of the balance scorecard, supply chain benefits tracking, call centre reports
- Performs business process improvement evaluations and analysis in conjunction with business process owners as necessary to deliver more efficient fit for purpose solutions
- Manages the technical interface and develops business process evaluation & improvement initiatives
- Provides input on the design of a continuous business process review and improvement evaluation process
- Contributes toward co-coordinated plans and implements strategies to improve Supply Chain Management efficiency and effectiveness
- Researches the market on industry best practices that impact on Business Intelligence needs to keeps abreast of technological changes in data management solutions.
- Provides guidance to stakeholders in the identification, design, development, and implementation of innovative and leading supply chain business intelligence methodologies and harvesting approaches
- Manages enabling systems that support operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Supply Chain processes (SAP, ARIBA, Analytics)
- Designs and implements measuring and tracking performance systems for supplies and suppliers
- Manages Governance and Risk within the Function by ensuring Policies and Procedures are in place
- Interprets operational requirements and integrates with discipline base financial needs to ensure availability of financial resources to meet business objectives
- Manages the safety, health and environmental programme in area of responsibility
- Initiates, monitors and controls short term sectional projects and ensures attainment of desired results
- Manages and coordinates the implementation of legal and corporate governance principles/requirements in area of responsibly.
- Manages the departmental talent management initiatives by ensuring the right competence and effectiveness of manpower (capacity building) through developing and implementing career, succession, training and development plans
- Manages the effectiveness of subordinates by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary
- Manages knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
- Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners (internal and external) to ensure achievement of business objective
Other Job Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety, health and environmental and corporate governance principles, policies and procedures in area of responsibility
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Business/Finance/Mining/ Engineering/Project Management or relevant discipline
Experience
10 years of relevant post qualification experience in a Supply Chain Management environment, with at least 3 years at management level
Legal Certification/Professional Registration
- Preferred: Membership of relevant professional body
